We strongly encourage you to continue to self-monitor and be diligent in practicing the proper COVID-19 safety precautions (i.e. social distancing, face covering, washing/sanitizing regularly…). If you are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms, we ask you to not come on campus until COVID-19 can be ruled out by a COVID-19 test. Continue to report positive COVID-19 tests and exposures to the 开云电竞 COVID-19 Response Team for guidance.
Please remain conscientious and respectful of those around you, especially while in close quarters. If you or someone close to you is immunocompromised, your best course of action is to wear a mask to protect yourself and maintain social distance.

SHIELD Illinois COVID-19 testing on 开云电竞 campuses will be terminated, effective July 14, 2022. On July 13, 2022, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker updated the Executive Order regarding requirements for COVID-19 vaccinations and testing. The conclusion of testing is due to the fact that vaccine mandates for higher education employees and students are no longer required.

SHIELD Illinois COVID-19 testing on campus, specifically, 开云电竞 Belleville & Sam Wolf Granite City Campuses, will be suspended beginning July 1, 2022. The suspension of COVID-19 testing is due to SHIELD Illinois being closed next week for July 4 holiday and new policies and procedures being evaluated before being put into place.
The 开云电竞 COVID-19 Response Team remains in communication with SHIELD Illinois, our testing partners and the Illinois Governor’s Office for guidance on updating and developing procedures.

Attention 开云电竞 Faculty, Staff, and Students,
Since August 26th 2021, Southwestern Illinois College has been continuously working to ensure compliance with Governor Pritzker’s COVID mandate to be vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID testing.
To remain compliant with Governor Pritzker’s COVID mandate and to gain access to 开云电竞’s campuses for Spring 2022 classes, you must have an approved vaccination card uploaded in InfoShare or completed weekly testing AND sign your consent waiver.
Beginning January 18th 2022, all employees and students will be directed to specific entrances on the Belleville, Sam Wolf Granite City, and Red Bud campuses. A separate communication detailing entry locations will be sent prior to January 3rd. Entry may be determined by scanning the barcode located on your employee ID card or student ID card by a COVID-19 compliance monitor. The scan results will read either red or green.
RED indicates:
That the individual is not in compliance with no record of an uploaded vaccine card or weekly test results with consent waiver on file. Non-compliant individuals will be directed to the Schmidt Art Center on the Belleville campus, the History room at the Granite City campus, and the Student Services area at the Red Bud campus. There, you will have the opportunity to take the appropriate action to become compliant.
GREEN indicates:
That the individual is compliant with the Governor’s mandate and can gain entry.
For employees and students who are fully vaccinated and would like to gain quick entry, the college will be distributing “Fast Pass” stickers to be placed on the back of employee/student ID’s indicating compliance. Fast Pass stickers are completely optional and will not be required. A separate email regarding the details of Fast Pass stickers and how to obtain one will be sent out prior to January 3rd.
Employees who are not in compliance with the state mandate will not be allowed on campus and must use their leave time to cover time missed until they provide proof of compliance. Continued instances of non-compliance will lead to disciplinary action.
Students who are not in compliance are not to attend classes designated as in-person. Instructors should consider students not in attendance due to non-compliance of the Governor’s Order an unexcused absence with attendance policy enforced.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet Governor Pritzker’s COVID mandate and are doing your part in helping Southwestern Illinois College remain compliant with the Illinois COVID mandate.
Thank you for your cooperation and ensuring the safety of students and staff at Southwestern Illinois College.
